"Forensic" means "suitable for use in court of law" It is a science that deals with the:

  • Application of sophisticated accounting

  • Financial and economic facts

  • Auditing methods and procedures

  • Complex legal problems usually dealing with financial and valuation issues

  • Forensic accountants need to understand legal theory, arguments, and understand how various assumptions may or may not impact analysis, all while staying true to accounting standards & regulations

  • They support the courts, attorneys, and clients in legal and accounting analysis

Qualifications

We look for candidates that are:

  • Detail oriented

  • Have a critical eye

  • Are curious and ask questions 

You do not need any law experience, but an interest in law is helpful

Qualifications held by most practitioners:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF)

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

  • Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV)
